By the time you are comfortable with all the material, you should be well prepared to pass the exam.
Relying solely on a question bank is rarely an effective revision strategy and is a common reason for trainees to fail their exam. Without a solid foundation in the underlying concepts, trainees often fall into the habit of memorising answers or recognising patterns rather than truly understanding the material. This can create gaps in knowledge across the curriculum and make it difficult to apply concepts to unfamiliar exam questions. Question banks are most effective when used to supplement structured learning resources, helping to reinforce and train knowledge rather than building it from scratch.
I am often asked: “If I use this book, will it be enough for my exams?” In short, yes, provided you know and understand the content thoroughly. Concerns about whether a resource is “enough” often lead trainees to jump between multiple materials, spending excessive time on individual topics and chasing increasingly obscure details out of fear they might appear in the exam.
In reality, candidates are more likely to struggle because they devote too much time searching for everything about a small part of the curriculum while neglecting the core knowledge required across the rest of it.
